Signalling & Telecoms

* Installation, testing and maintenance testing of signalling equipment by IRSE licensed 
technicians

Inspection – Ultrasonics

Ultrasonic Rail Flaw Detector Operatives (URFDO) supplied who are qualified to carry out all required tests upon Permanent Way UK-wide.

* Stressing of CWR levels 1,2 & 3

* Tamping, TQS, Track Handback to 125mph

* Planning of works and worksite manpower and materials

* Surveys and setting out of worksites with Trimble Total Station qualified engineers

* All Technical Officer grades and Contractors Responsible Engineers (CRE)

 

Hand Grinding

Hand Grinding Teams for removal of GCC, re-profiling and Switch and Crossing O53/054 Inspections.

 

Minor Civil Works

* Bridge maintenance
* Drainage, concrete and tarmac works

* Station upgrades and building works

* Access roads and pathways, fencing, troughing, safe CESS installation
* PTS Trades, for example bricklayers, electricians and painters

 

Vegetation Management

* Site and ecological surveys

* Small and large plant for felling, chipping and removal from site by qualified and experienced staff

  1. S&C Inspection, Grinding and S&T Services

    Work carried out by NRL Rail was associated with the National S&C Grinding Programme.

  2. S&T Services associated with Civils works (Surveys, SMTH & Cable Management) – UK wide


    We compiled surveys for our clients outlining the potential risks and hazards in a work zone from an S&T perspective. 

  3. Ultrasonic Rail Testing (URFDO) – UK wide


     
    NRL Rail supplied competent ‘U’ certificated technicians and equipped them with the industry approved walking sticks and ultrasonic sets.

  4. Point Building – Paisley Corridor

    NRL Rail contracted IRSE licensed supervisors and technicians to build and install 39 new point sets.

  5. S&T Faulting & Maintenance teams – UK Wide

    We supplied IRSE licensed S&T maintenance teams with test equipment, hand tools and vans. Coverage was nationwide.

  6. IBJ Testing - Paisley Corridor

    Testing carried out pre- and post-installation by IRSE licensed technicians, sourced and supplied by NRL Rail.
