NRL awarded Principal Contractor Licence

NRL’s Rail contracting division has successfully secured a Principal Contractor Licence, after a comprehensive quality management audit process.

The licence, issued by Network Rail, is required for contractors who work directly on the UK’s rail infrastructure. Principal Contractor Licence status is only awarded to organisations who meet the robust HSQE management systems required to ensure they can safety and sustainably conduct trackside services.

NRL’s Rail contracting teams in Grangemouth and Barnsley, provide specialist Signalling, Grinding, Ultrasonic Inspection and Training services to key infrastructure projects across the UK. The team’s success follows a long history of exemplary annual RISQs audits.

Discussing the Principal Contractor Licence NRL’s Rail Director Jim Taylor said,

To be recognised at such a prestigious level is high praise for our specialist team. The team worked tirelessly to scrutinise and document our proven HSEQ approach, whilst continuing to provide essential trackside services.

Our appointment as a Principal Contractor is great recognition of the high standard of service and safety our team delivers out of the tracks each day.
